Description: Sharm Hotel Amsterdam is located in the middle of the canal ring in the city center, between the Royal Palace in the Dam Square, Westerkerk (Western Church), and Anne Frank House. The hotel is situated in a large building with an arcade entrance shared with several other hotels. Sharm Hotel Amsterdam is under new management with experience in the hotel business who wish to raise it to standard two-star hotel quality and disassociate it from the Rainbow Palace Hotel Amsterdam which was formerly in its place.
Major renovations were recently completed on the hotel, and every room is now fitted with a private shower and toilet. It is a small hotel with steep, narrow stairs and no elevator. Breakfast is not included or served.

Sharm Hotel Amsterdam is one of several hotels located in a unique historic building on the corner of the Herengracht. The front of the building has an elegant arched passageway with an array of shops and cafés occupying the ground floor, while the hotels fill the remaining upper floors. Each hotel has its respective reception desk on the first floor, reached by a flight of steep and narrow stairs which can be challenging to the elderly. Sharm Hotel Amsterdam is no exception, but the stairs leading from the reception desk to the rooms are a bit more forgiving.
