Description: EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam, the former Croydon Hotel Amsterdam, is a small hostel centrally located in the Red Light District (De Wallen) on one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam (Warmoesstraat), a pedestrian street running between Amsterdam Centraal Station and the Dam Square. EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam was recently taken over by new management who have plans to improve the character of the hostel. One such improvement is the remodeling of the old sandwich shop that stood downstairs into a fresh, new café serving crepes and waffles.
EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam is a small hostel recently taken over by new management with experience in the hospitality industry, especially with serving backpackers. The management also run a few other hostels and bars in the city center, but they have never managed a crepe and waffle business like the one on the ground floor of EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam. Nevertheless, they are enjoying some success, and the accommodation has already become known as “the waffle hotel in Amsterdam.” People are attracted to the sweet smell wafting out of the café and the professional quality of the crepes and waffles served (a chef was brought in to re-develop the menu and improve the crepe- and waffle-making techniques). Slainte, the Irish bar belonging to their sister hostel a few doors down, offers guests of EasyStay Hotel Amsterdam a 20% discount when shown the wristband from the hotel.
More about EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam
On the ground floor beneath the reception of EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam, a newly opened café selling crepes and waffles can be found. Aptly named Crepes & Waffles, the café offers a variety of sweet or savory crepes and Belgian-style waffles with a range of toppings. Guests of EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam are given a wristband at check-in, which provides a 10% discount on anything at the café during their stay.
A note from EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam
EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam lies right in the heart of Amsterdam, just a stone’s throw away from the Royal Palace, between Dam Square and the Red Light District, and only a five-minute walk to the central train station. Where else can you find guided tours of the Red Light District, Rembrandt House, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, tulips, coffeeshops, and cheap beer? Old blends into new, radical squatter art installations hang off 17th century eaves, BMWs give way to bicycles, and triple-strength, monk-brewed beer is served up in minimalist cafes. And EasyStay Hostel Amsterdam is your first culture stop in this over-the-top Dutch city.
